5 days off work!!! As the 4th of July long weekend approached I fantasized about lounging around, relaxing, calmly organizing my garage which has been neglected since we moved in 2 years ago and possibly indulging in a foot rub or two. Realistically, none of this would actually happen! With a heatwave coming to LA, there’s was no way I’d be stepping in the garage (we don’t have A/C) and of course Tommy and Elias don’t quite care for letting Mom relax, so nap times will have to do. Even as I sit here writing in my bedroom, I can hear them fighting over Paw Patrol toys in the living room. ALTHOUGH THEY FIGHT ALL THE TIME,THEY CAN’T BE WITHOUT ONE ANOTHER!! AND I LOVE THIS! It’s nostalgic of my childhood, my siblings and I did just about everything together, especially Laiza and I since we are only 1 year apart. Family has alway been HUGE for me and to date I consider my siblings my best friends. I hope and pray that Elias and Tommy will be each other’s best friends forever!!!
We had a calm morning this 4th of July, the boys voluntarily emptied their toy boxes and strategically scattered them throughout the house so that I would step on them barefoot throughout the day…OUCH!!!….gotta love them though! This year we celebrated Independence Day at Dodgers Stadium, it was Tommy’s first game and he did GREAT! I love seeing those big brown eyes open wide and that gorgeous smile on that adorable mischievous face when he explores new things. He was cheering, and clapping and eating galore! In all honesty however, I think he was happiest because Nana and Tata where there! He hardly left their laps!
Elias had a rough start at the game, he didn’t take his full nap before we left and it took him about 3 innings and some ice cream he stole from my brother Alex to get into the moment. It was refreshing celebrating this 4th of July away from the traditional BBQ setting, even surrounded by strangers it felt like an intimate and relaxed setting with the family. After nine overall innocuous innings the Dodgers beat the Pirates 6 to 4! Woohoo! And the fireworks show was so colorful and beautiful!!
Taking advantage of our Thursday off we headed to the LA Zoo in the morning; The boys always have fun at the zoo! Elias had two items on his agenda this visit: 1. Getting his treasure map (AKA map of the zoo) and 2. Visiting the giraffes; I’m happy to report that he accomplished both! The heat picked up fast so we only spent a couple of hours there, we all started to get annoyingly grumpy as it got hotter.
Over the weekend Elias, Tommy and I also went to visit Laiza who’s working in Ventura County for the summer. Lucky for us, she’s only a 5 minute walk away from the beach. It was my first time going to the beach with Tommy although he has gone before with my sister Erika. The boys looked so adorable!! And they had so much fun!!! Elias preferred to build castles in the sand while Tommy and I played in the water. Tommy and I must have w made 1,000 trips (okay maybe not so many) carrying bucket of water to Elias; I consider this to be my workout for the weekend! The water was exaggeratedly rocky so I’ll be sure to pack water shoes next time! I LOVE THE BEACH!!! It’s remarkably serene and the views are endless! I feel so grateful to be able to share moments like this with my boys, it feels peaceful.
In between our weekend outings, I made sure to make time to enjoy our home. The boys spent time in their summer pool while I made time to work on the blog. It still needs a whole lot of TLC but I’m slowly making progress. AND IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE POSTING MY 2ND POST!!!
Until next time…. much love!
Adorable little ones 😍🤗💕
