In November of 2017, more than 5 years of postponing this journey, I finally had the courage to start my own blog. While its not relevant, I will acknowledge that Mr. Jack Daniels might have played a small role in giving me the boost of confidence I lacked to get started. See, that’s been the issue with me for far too long, I have the desire to do so many amazing fun things but I just never seem to get to them. Sometimes I lack confidence in my abilities, other times out of pure procrastination and sometimes, I simply don’t know where to start ….excuses excuses. My bucket list keeps growing and truthfully I don’t feel that I’ve checked many things of that list…with the exception of having my two beautiful amazing children of course! And although I’m staring this lifestyle blog mostly for myself, to some degree, I’m also doing it for my boys. I want to give them the best version of me, and how can do that when I’m feeling unaccomplished in some areas.
All that being said, making the decision to start my blog has definitely been the easy part. It took me about 3 days to brainstorm and decide on my domain name, and as I began my research on how to actually get started, I quickly and brutally realized I had greatly underestimate the process. I KNEW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about starting a blog and 3 months later, I can honestly say I STILL KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Now, I’m a pretty confident woman and know I will eventually figure it out and I will make my blog functional, nice and pretty, but there is just so much I don’t understand about designing and coding and blogging language. I guess if all else fails or if I get impatient (absolutely not unlikely)… I can always hire someone to design by blog, or even better teach me to design it!
During the last 24 hours I’ve seen dozens and dozens of how to videos, read “how to start your blog” blogs galore and stalked waaaay too many blogs for inspiration. I am so far from the design I envision for my blog site, but I just can’t allow myself to wait unit I figure it ALL out in order to start posting. So here is my first post on my very own blog. It is by no means perfect and it’s probably full of grammatical errors, misspellings and it might not make any sense, but I did it! And I’m beyond excited!
